Deadlift 2,2,2,2 I did 275#/315#/335#/355# failed
Push Press 2,2,2,2 I did 115#/135#/145#/155#failed
Loads in both of these movements are well below my PR's, but I haven't tried to go this heavy since Summer. I am glad to have started to incorporate more strength training to address my weaknesses, caused by injury or not.
2 Hours later.
Ran 5.25 miles in 42 minutes. That' s a 8:03 mile pace. I wanted to stay at a comfortable pace to build a solid base for more running to come.

Results: 5 Rounds

5 Deadlifts 225#
5 Pistols

Results: 3 Rounds
well...i bumped into this blog paul , i am an admirer of what u have accomplished in crossfit so far. my name is peter de sury and am also a 53yo master-...last year ended 90th in open but had a achilles tendonitis which killed me .... this year I have managed to work real hard up till last saturday.... wotking in the yard i broke my hand at the carpus....nothing compaerd to your injury ....but i just wanted to say taht if u were an inspiration before...well now have all mu admoration for what u are doing and blogging..... i dont know if ill be reday ( regardless of injury) in 2012 but i sure will make the cur in 2013 when i jump age bracket...hope to have the honour to meet u sson. yours peter de sury

ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. I hope your injury heals quickly. I think the best athletes our age can do after an injury is, get back to our training program, re-assess after some progress and then determine if competing outweighs the benefits of practicing CrossFit. For now, just keep on keepin' on, Peter. Good luck.
