Sunday 01/02/2011

We came in to the gym a little early today and worked with handstand walks and 50# slosh pipes for some shoulder stability work. This combination really got my shoulders warmed up quickly. The slosh pipe is the real deal for working your entire body for "bracing" drills. They helped when we started the morning session with deadlifts.
We worked to a heavy single. I haven't felt too confident in the deadlifts, since I pulled my hamstring competing at the NLP Invitational. Today was the first time I spent any time over 300#. It felt pretty good. Finally.
We did an OPT workout for a met con workout afterwards. Didn't realize how tough this workout was going to be until we got into it. The whole deal is going fast and unbroken. I just focused on the unbroken part. The speed wasn't there for me today. I'll revisit this workout at a future date.
