Workout #1
OH Squats 135# x 3, 155# x 2, 155# x 2, missed 170#
50 Squat Cleans for time @ 95#.
5:40
The first session was not that productive, as I wanted to go a lot heavier than 155#. I failed in the lifts mostly due to fatigued shoulders. They were not sore, just tired. I've done the 50 cleans before in a workout, but I don't recall what my time was. It was hard, nonetheless.
Workout #2
Deadlift- Heavy Single
225# x 8, 275# x 5, 315# x 3, 365# x 1, 380# x 1, 410 missed.
Monday starts the training for the Games in earnest. I won't be handling the CFEC's main page programming until after the Games are over. I will be cutting my coaching schedule a little, to allow for more focus on my own training. Lisa and Teshina will be doing the programming for the group classes. I have all the faith in the world in those two for providing solid, result driven workouts for the next 6 weeks. They have already done a great job doing the weekend programming. If any of you athletes wish to come join in the fun with me, you're invited to share in my playful misery. Who knows, it might be fun.
Hey Paul, I think you missed a set of deadlifts. I could have sworn I saw you lift 400# before the miss at 410#. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteIf you need something, anything, to help you prepare; if need some burden or distraction removed, just let me know Paul. I'll find a way to make it happen.
ReplyDeleteYour 50th year is going to be very special for you.
Mike,
ReplyDeleteMy math was wrong. I thought it was 400#, but when I got a photo that James took,I saw it was only 380#. That jump up to 410# was a real shocker. I'm sticking to the story that I could've pulled 400#, because I could've gotten 2 reps with 380#. Oh well.
Tony,
Thank you, Brother. I'll turn to you for calmness and organizational help. You'll be my suicide hot line operator, should I need to call you.
