This morning was supposed to be a day off. I thought last night I would have been recovered enough this morning to workout. Boy, was I wrong. I was lucky to have friends like Diana, JoJo and Newman there to pick me up and pull me through a rough attempt of a workout. I've always felt that training has to have a purpose. If there is no purpose, it's just exercising. This morning was borderline exercising. I am very shameful to admit that. The next couple days will be total recovery days.
Workout:
400m Run
30 Unbroken HSC 95#
30 Unbroken Pull Ups
400m Run
20 Ubroken HSC
20 Unbroken Pull Ups
400m Run
10 Unbroken HSC
10 Unbroken Pull Ups
Results:
Newman 14:05
JoJo 15:54 Rx
Diana 16:51 Rx
Paul 21:19 Row
Dude, there is nothing "shameful" in pushing through and making an extraordinary effort, even if it turned out to be the wrong call to make for yourself for that day. That's merely pushing the envelope. Not shameful. You are an incredible and smart athlete, who let his competitive edge outrank listening to his body for a day or two. (I know this is true because you've told me so in the past.)
ReplyDeleteMove onward and upward. It's just one day and just one workout.
You will prevail next month, and I will be there to watch it happen.
